Stay and Plays
Come and spend time having fun and exploring planned activities with your child. Our activities are suitable for children and families to enjoy together. The sessions are facilitated by our members of staff who are there to offer support and give you information. Our staff can help you with practical ideas for you to support your child’s learning and development at home.
Encourages bonding which is a unique relationship between parent and child. Benefits can include helping your baby to feel secure and attached, reduced crying and emotional distress, relief from wind, colic, constipation and teething discomfort. We offer a 5 week course at Woodlands or Sanderstead children’s centre please see our timetable for more information.
Chickens! Planting and growing, arts and crafts and so much more!
baby yoga helps to attune to your baby’s needs and calm or stimulate them as appropriate with a sense of security and wellbeing. It is beneficial for all babies from 6 months and babies can respond positively to stimulation of movement and touch. Please see our timetable for more information.
Messy baby peeps
Messy play gives babies the opportunity to explore objects and raw materials in a free and unrestricted way. The sensory experience enables them to understand how things feel, smell and taste and it supports their physical development. Messy play fosters your baby’s curiosity, imagination and experimentation and practices good concentration.
Sing and sign
Sign and sign is an interactive session where you learn to communicate with your child through songs and signing, this session is aimed at under 1’s. No booking required just pop along for a good old sing song.
Stuck for meal ideas, want your child to learn about healthy eating then sign up for our 5 week course of cooking cubs (Sessions run from September-March). This session is aimed at children aged 2-5 years with their parent/carer where you learn to prepare healthy snacks and meals alongside your child. Please see our timetable for more information.
Stuck for ideas of what to grow with your child, want your child to learn how plants grow then sign up for our 5 week gardening club course (sessions run from April-July). During each session children will take home what they plant and learn what their seeds will become and how to look after them, this session is aimed at children 2-5 years alongside their parent/carer.
Now I am 2
Now I’m 2 is a structured Stay and Play. We aim to offer support and guidance on getting your child ready for nursery by building confidence, independence and offering advice and help for toilet training, behaviour, speech and language and any other issues you may be experiencing. We have focused activities and explain your child’s learning and development through play. Our activities are suitable for children and families to enjoy together.
Bookstart Corner is a 4 week course suitable for 2-4 year olds and their parent/carers. During the session we make reading fun by using props and getting the children to make their own, all children will receive a Bookstart pack which includes free story books and parents learn how to make story time more enjoyable.
