On 24th February 2009, Woodlands Children’s Centre was officially opened. The Mardi Gras carnival themed event was attended by 70 families and their children. The pink and blue ribbons were cut by Head, Gillian Gandolfo and children’s author Jane Clarke.

 

The afternoon’s fun included:

Story telling by Jane Clarke*

Latin dancing

Baby Yoga

Face Painting

Pinatas

Neck and shoulder massages

Pancakes  and  light refreshments

A Shoebox float parade and competition

 

A raffle was held with all proceeds to the NSPCC

* Jane Clarke’s published books include ‘Gilbert the Great’ and  ‘Gilbert in Deep’. Jane spent the morning at Gilbert Scott Primary School doing workshops with the children in years 3,4 and 5.
