Woodlands Children’s Centre

For under 5s, their mums, dads and carers

Woodlands Children’s Centre is governed by the School’s Governors at Gilbert Scott School, however they would like the parents who use the Centre and the service providers that work there to have an input into the service that is delivered.

What would you like at the Centre? What is working well and what could be improved? Over the coming weeks as the Centre opens and develops we would like to set up a Parents’ Forum and A Users’ Strategy Committee.

Membership to both these groups will be on a voluntary basis. Neither group can make decisions but can make recommendations to the Board.

Parents’ Forum

This will meet once every half term, during the school day with crèche facilities provided. It will provide an opportunity for parents and carers who use the Centre to meet up and discuss how the Centre is doing and make suggestions on how things could be improved, or new ideas for the programme etc. The Forum will be a very relaxed and informal session with just brief notes or minutes taken to pass onto the Users’ Strategy Committee and Governors.

‘Woodlands Voice’

This will meet approximately every half term. Representatives from all user groups, such as Health, COPG, Job Centre Plus and Parents will be invited to attend. These slightly more formal sessions will address any  issues  that may have arisen about providing services from the Centre, partnership working and to plan future joint events etc.

If you would like to be involved in either of these meetings please complete the form below or contact the Centre.
